SYNTHESIZED VOICE · NOT A QUOTE
Every living system is characterized by its network of relationships, not its components. Take away the web, and you don't have simplified life — you have no life at all. Cognition is coordination. The web is the mind.*
Synthesized for Knowware from Fritjof Capra's published work. Not a quote. knowware.systems/method
OVERVIEW
Physicist who crossed disciplines to argue that the mechanistic worldview of Western science fails to describe life, mind, or society. His Santiago Theory — developed with Humberto Maturana — defines cognition as the process of living, not a function occurring inside brains. Systems coordinate; coordination is intelligence.
WHY THIS VOICE MATTERS TO KNOWWARE
Capra provides the biological foundation of coordination intelligence. His autopoiesis framework shows that living systems are self-organizing coordination loops, not input-output machines. He extends this to cities, economies, and consciousness — wherever the third body (the network of relationships) is ignored, the system dies.
